Ingredients

Oolong
The aroma is fresh and quite floral, you can feel the sweet aroma of butter biscuits and sweet summer flowers. The taste profile is well-balanced, not too much to the green nor to the black side. Though it has quite a strong floral flavour at the same time. Mesame means third in Georgian languages and represents the third try for Prodigy. We think that the third is here to stay ;)

Tasting Notes

1.Floral & Fresh
2.Crisp / Sweet / Agave
3.Buttery Biscuits
4.Wet Concrete after a Fresh Rain
5.Prodigy Mesame Oolong harvested on July 11, 2020 from @renegadeteafarmers - This was a very flavorful Oolong enjoyed on a nice stormy spring night with the light sounds of rumbling thunder across the Texas skies. It provided clean floral notes of fresh spring flowers with a buttery taste of sweet biscuits and raw agave. The minerals reminded me of the smell of concrete after a fresh rain. 🌱⛈🫖 This is a semi-oxidized tea, classified as an oolong, but has the style of a Pouchong. Very exquisite tea! This Georgian Tea Farm caught my eye and I just had to order some. Their story is quite unique and inspiring. All Renegade Tea Estate teas are grown under the Georgian sun, chemical-free and without any concentrated fertilizers. All of the harvests are done by hand- people from nearby villages plucking only the finest leaves. All of the teas they sell are produced in their own small factory. Unfortunately all their teas from 2020 are now sold out, so I’m grateful I got my order in when I did. Thank you Renegade Tea for sharing your precious leaves!

Renegade Tea Estate

ecoming tea farmers was not something we had always dreamed of – we had successful corporate careers and no real pressure to make a complete change in our lives. Our journey started with a crazy idea and a series of coincidences following that.

You can read the full stories from each of us in our blog, but let’s just say that we didn’t have a lifelong dream to become tea farmers and there were no dramatic moments of “clarity” that descended on us. There were also moments of doubt when we were intimidated by the idea of exchanging our office attire for rubber boots. A few left our team halfway through and there were others that joined later, but in the end, the unreal story of the abandoned tea industry of Georgia really got to us and our passion was bigger than our fear. So, we left our corporate careers in the Baltics and started as tea farmers in Georgia to give our part in brining Georgian tea back to the map.
