Ingredients

Assam black tea, fresh ginger, cardamom, cinnamon sticks, cloves, black pepper, fennel, nutmeg, star anise, whole milk, jaggery
⁣Authentic Masala Chai - This is a take on the traditional spiced tea from India. I like it SPICY. I used Vahdam India Assam black tea, fresh ginger, cardamom, cinnamon sticks, cloves, fennel, nutmeg, star anise, whole milk, and jaggery to sweeten the deal. The taste is rich, sweet, and spicy from the black pepper and fresh ginger. VERY tasty! The main benefit of chai I notice is how it opens my senses and wakes my brain up! Whenever I’m tired, a cup of tea always lifts my spirits.

Recipe

1.Exotic Assam
2.Fresh ginger
3.Cardamom
4.Cinnamon sticks
5.Cloves
6.Black pepper
7.Fennel seeds
8.Nutmeg
9.Star Anise
10.Jaggery (for sweetness)
11.Whole Milk
12.2 cups water - 1 cup of whole milk - I crush all the spices together using a mortar and pestle, then add 2-3 teaspoons of the crushed spices to the water. (Along with the ginger, jaggery, & cinnamon stick) Bring water to a boil, reduce heat, and add milk with 4 teaspoons of black tea. Let simmer for 10-12 minutes. Pour through a strainer, add the anise star & enjoy!
