Yesterday my family and I enjoyed a traditional English afternoon tea party complete with delicate tea sandwiches, Devonshire Scones with jam and clotted cream, raspberry tarts, millionaire bars, orange & honey Madeleines, and of course the loose leaf tea from a teapot using a tea strainer. We poured Austin Tea Company’s Classic English Breakfast and Coconut Oolong!
This amazing experience was provided by Sarah who owns the Austin English Tea Company. Sarah was born and raised in England and her Nana was an expert baker and the “Burkes family Tea Parties” are still fondly remembered. Her father’s grandparents owned a bakery and his parents were confectioners.
Needless to say Sarah’s treats were authentic and VERY delicious! I highly recommend booking a tea party inside her elegant tea room, or getting “tea to go” as we did and having a picnic!
